DETAILS
Please call or email us to check our availability. The busiest wedding dates book quickly, so don’t delay.
Adam Skuba, owner of Skuba Entertainment, has been a DJ for nearly 20 years.
We average 2 weddings each weekend during the most popular wedding months, and more than 50 weddings each year.
Yes, we believe meeting your DJ before your wedding will ensure a successful wedding day. We can work with your busy schedule and meetings can be done in person or through FaceTime or Zoom.
We have done weddings and events at nearly every venue in the region. If we haven’t, we may request to a site visit.
There are many reasons why hundreds of couples have trusted Skuba Entertainment with their special day. Time after time, we hear that it is our attention to detail and exceptional customer service is what sets us apart.
We also do uplighting, photo booths, dancing-in-the-clouds, dazzle effects, monogram projection and multi-media presentations.
THE MUSIC
We have a sophisticated online planning portal that will guide you through the process of selecting your music. We encourage your input on the music we play. You can also tell us the songs that you definitely don’t want!
Absolutely! You can give us as much, or as little, input on the music. With our years of experience, we are able to read the crowd, take requests, and keep your dance floor packed.
Simple answer: We probably have every song you could imagine. If we don’t have it, chances are we can get it.
No, they are working throughout your entire event.
We always have contingency plans in place and have never had a no-show.
Yes, we become your Master of Ceremonies (MC, emcee) and will take care of your schedule, announcements and handling of the event timeline. We’ll handle it all so you can relax and enjoy yourselves.
LOL! Our couples describe us as engaging, polished and never overbearing. You’re the star of the show, and we’d never dream of stealing your spotlight.
You’ve probably been to one of those weddings, haven’t you? That doesn’t happen when you choose Skuba Entertainment. We will work with you in advance to determine the music tastes of you and your guests. During your reception, we’ll read the crowd and do whatever it takes to keep your dance floor packed.
We can, but only if you would like us to. It is generally a good idea to give the DJ some flexibility to rely on his experience in reading the crowd. We have found that the best recipe for a packed dance floor is for you to pick some of the music, provide a ‘do not play’ list, and let your DJ handle the rest.
You’re welcome to provide a ‘do not play’ list. If you don’t want it, we won’t play it.
THE DAY OF LOGISTICS
Yes, and they can be used for speeches and toasts.
We need access to electric, of course. If your reception is outdoors, it’s best to have a covered area for the DJ. If there are a lot of stairs or difficult vehicle access, we’d like to know that in advance.
Stuff happens. We always have backup equipment, just in case.
We arrive two to three hours in advance. It takes us one to two hours to take everything down at the end.
We will meet two or three times to ensure that all of the details are in place. These meetings may be done in person, by phone, or by FaceTime or Zoom.
We’d like to have the details a month or more in advance, but can always make last minute changes
We will be dressed appropriately, typically in black.
A meal is never required, but always appreciated.
We’re there to make your wedding a success, not to act like one of your guests. Your DJ won’t be smoking or drinking alcohol.
COSTS AND PAYMENT
When we connect, we will outline all of our packages and options and give you transparent pricing. Our fees start at $1500, and our typical client invests $2500.
Some of our upgraded packages have an extra fee, but you’ll know all of that before you decide. As long as your wedding is within our normal service area (which is big) there is no travel charge.
Typically, you would pay half of the total fee when you book, but we have flexible payment plans.
All payments are non-refundable. In most circumstances, we are flexible if your date changes.
The busiest wedding dates book well in advance, so it’s never too early to book. We recommend reserving your date 12 months in advance, but if your wedding is sooner than that just call to see if your date is available.
“The most common comment guests have said to me about our wedding is that the dance floor was packed from start to finish! Thanks, Adam!” – Losa
